Amin Rafiee is the founder and protocol architect of EduFi, the intelligence and verification layer for global learning. He has spoken at UNESCO, the European Commission, and leading institutions across Europe, North America, Australia, and Latin America.
With 10+ years in distributed systems and digital trust, Amin is building infrastructure that connects learning pathways and opportunities, verifies real capability, and makes skills portable across institutions and borders.
Amin has spoken at UNESCO in Paris, the European Commission in Brussels, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue. His research on verifiable learning and credential portability has been published with Springer, reinforcing EduFi’s role in shaping next-generation education infrastructure.
Previously active in the distributed-systems communities, he has spoken at HCPP and industry conferences alongside early pioneers in distributed infrastructure.
Amin contributed to leading distributed networks, including early advisory support for Aave during its formative stage. Aave has since grown into one of the most widely used distributed finance protocols with more than $30B secured at peak adoption.
He also collaborated with Storj, a pioneer in distributed cloud storage, which has grown into a global platform with more than $100M in network value and enterprise-scale usage.
His work in distributed governance earned the UNESCO Grand Prix award, an honor also held by innovators behind platforms such as Twitter, Spotify, Waze, and Airbnb.
As co-founder of Unchained, he worked on secure-by-design infrastructure, device hardening, and resilient communication systems. He has delivered 1,000+ workshops and talks globally on distributed systems, Bitcoin, cybersecurity, and digital coordination.
Amin’s mission is to build the verification and intelligence layer for global learning, connecting pathways and ensuring knowledge and skill can be proven and trusted anywhere. EduFi verifies both learners and credential issuers, treating every skill claim as unverified until proven.
Beyond technology, Amin has explored the limits of human potential, inspired by figures like Wim Hof, Frederick Hatfield, and Mark Rippetoe. He has submerged in a frozen lake for 7 minutes and deadlifted more than twice his body weight. His exploration of endurance includes extended fasting, including several days of dry fasting and up to 9 days of water fasting.
